I placed my child in the queue to start in Grade 6 and hear that you are now taking in students from Grade 4.
-
A:
The expansion of IESB means that from August 2012 we will be able to offer places in school from Grades 4-9.Intake for August 2012 will be to Grades 4, 5 and 6 to fill up all the available places in school. From 2013 onwards we will only be admitting students to Grade 4.
If you have placed your child in the queue for Grade 6 they will automatically be transferred to the queue for Grade 4 and if they are eligible they will be offered a place in Grade 4.

I am coming to visit IESB, where can I park my car?
-
A:
Unfortunately parking for visitors is extremely limited at IESB and if you are coming to any event organised at school we recommend that you leave your car at home. Local parking inspectors do not hesitate to fine illegally parked cars.IESB is easily accessible by bus, underground, bicycle or on foot.

I already have a child in the school, now I wonder how sibling priority work.
-
A:
Sibling priority means that the second child is prioritized in the queue. In other words, if you have a child in school and add that to the one you have in queue they get moved to the top right away.
Sibling priority is only valid as long as the older child is attending IESB when the second childs starts.
It is the responsibility of the parents to apply for sibling priority.

How do I apply to your school?

Applications are through our online application forms.
More information is available here.Alternatively go directly to the online application form.
We no longer have paper applications available and registering online means you will have confirmation sent to the email address you specify in the application.

Could you tell me what my daughter/son's queue number is and the likliness of her/him getting a place?
-
A:
Queue numbers change daily and can be extremely difficult to determine whether or not a child is likely to be offered a place. The queue is affected by parents adding information giving sibling priority, by people moving or choosing another school.
IES is a dynamic organisation that is going through rapid expansion - a new school opening up in the area may mean opportunities for students who did not expect to be offered a place.
Offers are sent out to students by January of the same year a student would start at IESB.
-
-
My neighbour's child was recently offered a place in school and we were not, even though we applied much earlier.
-
A:
There are two possible explanations for this occurrence:- They a family has an older child in school the younger child gets sibling priority and goes to the front of the queue, even if the child was only recently registered.
- Many years may have passed since the initial registration and it is not unusual for families to forget when they registered their child, or even that they did register their child in the queue.

How many students are you admitting in August 2012?
-
A:
With the expansion of IESB in August 2012 we are taking in 5 classes of both grades 4 and 5, as well as 3 classes of grade 6. This will fill up all available places in IESB and the school will be running at capacity. In 2010 we started 2 classes of grade 4, which will be in grade 6 next August. The two existing classes of grade 6s and the three new classes will bring the total class number up to 5.
After 2012's intake we will not be admitting students to Grades 5 or 6, but exclusively to Grade 4.

-
What can we do if we said NO to a place and then change our minds?
-
A:
If you are offered a place in school but choose not to accept it then that place is automatically offered to another student, and is no longer available. You would then need to apply again to the queue and your queue placement would be determined by the second application date.

-
I no longer have my log-in, how do I change my application details?
-
A:
It is essential that you keep your application up to date as we will use the contact information to send out information, including placement offers. If you do not have the right address registered then you not only risk missing a place in school, but also being deregistered from the queue. If you no longer have your log-in details then we suggest you send an email to info@bromma.engelska.se and include the following:
- child's name and personal number,
- the existing information and the correct current information
- and contact phone number in case we need to call you to confirm.
